AbstractThe purpose of the study was to investigate the differences in values of the students between Madrasah and General Institutions in Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh. To investigate and compare the values among the students, 120 respondents (60 from Madrasah and 60 from General institutions) were selected by purposive sampling method from the target population. In order to measure the personal values an adapted Bangla version (Latif 1991) of Allport-Vernon-Lindzey study of values was administered on the respondents. Six hypotheses were formulated in this study. The data were analyzed by using t-tests. The findings revealed that there were significant differences in theoretical, economic, social, political and religious values between the two groups of students. But there were no significant differences in aesthetic values between the respondents.
