Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the relationship between adjustment and achievement motivation of undergraduate students. The sample was composed of 300 undergraduate students of University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Data were collected by using two psychological tests i.e. the Achievement Motivation Scale (Afsaruddin, 1987) and Bangla version (Faruk, 1986) of the Bell Adjustment Inventory (Bell, 1962). Data were analyzed by using t-test. Results revealed that the better the adjustment of the students in 5 categories of adjustment (home adjustment, health adjustment, submissiveness, emotionality and hostility-friendliness) the higher their achievement motivation.
