Abstract

: Allelopathic effect of Eucalyptus camaldulensis L. leaf extracts on germination and seedling growth of three wheat varieties namely PRODIP, BARI-Gom 25 and BARI-Gom 26 were investigated under laboratory conditions following soaked and semi-immersed methods. It was observed that under immersed mode of germination PRODIP and soaked mode of germination BARI Gom-25 showed more tolerance towards extract treatments. Generally, the inhibitory effect of wheat seed germination was increased by the increasing Eucalyptus extract concentration. So, these findings indicate that Eucalyptus tree has the adverse effect on wheat cultivation but PRODIP and BARI Gom-25 varieties are more tolerant than BARI-Gom 26 to allelopathic action. So, these two wheat varieties can be allowed to grow in this situation.
