ANNOTATED CHECKLIST OF AVIFAUNA AND RELATIVE DIVERSITY OF NAGESHWARI UPAZILLA OF KURIGRAM DISTRICT, BANGLADESH

AbstractThe current report based on field observation at Nageshwari upazilla, Kurigram, Bangladesh. This examination was completed to
notice the migration status, social status and the feeding guild of the avian fauna including the relative diversity of the territory. Data were collected from November 2014 to November 2019. During the study period, 117 avian species were recorded that belong to 41 families under 12 orders among which 62 (52.99%) are passerine and 55 (47.01%) are non-passerine birds. Among the birds 15 (12.15%) winter visitors, 2 (1.71%) summer visitors, 10 (8.55%) resident migratory, 6 (5.13%) rare resident and 84 (71.79%) were resident. The birds observed in the study area, insectivorous birds were found to be highest (38.46%). This study will be useful to comprehend the status of birds in different season in this region.
