AbstractThe study was conducted to determine biodiversity in Charghat Upazila, Rajshahi and their ecological notes. It was observed that the study area land conversion was causing depletion of biodiversity. Cropping in orchard cultivation got popular for its economically profitable. When the consequences of this results in overshoot-and-collapse dynamics, which are undesirable from a sustainability perspective. Here, we emphasize the importance of the long-term sustainability of ecological niches. This study found that land use change and land degradation are two of the important drivers of depletion of biodiversity particularly habitat destruction, natural vegetation decline, an also scarcity of natural water body respectively. Natural habitat destruction results in some species are rare, threaten and few species have gone extinct in the study area. In particular, this result holds in the case of imperfect information regarding the precise temporal dynamics of biodiversity loss. This study highlights intended to explore the impact of biodiversity depletion and finally showed the possible impact of land conversion on sustainable biodiversity especially their ecological imbalance in the study area.
