AbstractPositive correlations were observed between chiasma frequency and grains per spikelet, and between regular tetrads and grains per spikelet in case of Aghrani FM-147. On the contrary, both positive and negative correlations were found for all these characters in the cross of Ananda FM-147. Almost similar results were obtained in F2 progenies of the cross Akbar FM-147. Findings on different zones of spikes might be influenced by some other factors irrespective of meiotic irregularity.
