Abstract

The present study was conducted to translate and assess the reliability of the Bangla version of New Job Stress Scale (NJSS). The test-retest, parallel form and internal consistency reliabilities were tested on a sample of 112 working adults (73 males and 39 females) in different areas of Bangladesh. Purposive sampling technique was used to select participants for the present study. Results showed that the parallel form and the test-retest reliabilities of this scale was 0.95 and 0.89 respectively. The Cronbach’s alpha co-efficient of four subscales namely job stress, role conflict, co-worker support and work life balance were 0.88, 0.88, 0.67, and 0.87 respectively. The reliabilities indicate that the scale would be appropriate to measure job stress for indigenous working people of Bangladesh.
